50 000 Europeans throughout the world
Since its inception in 1975, the Commission is the Godfather of more than 50.000 pupils who left the 14 European Schools with the famous Baccalaureate Européen. 80 % of these pupils completed academic studies and have pursued a variety of careers. We are proud to mention some very famous alumni: The German Minister of Defence, Mrs Ursula von der Leyen, Boris Johnson, the Lord Mayor in London and the producer Florian Henkel von Donnersmarck.
Besides these famous references, a few elements are important to build a network of alumni of the European Schools; our alumni had a privileged education and we think time has come to do something in return: to help alumni who start studying, support those in new cities where they study or building networks in the employment market. But of course, there is also a deep-rooted sense of common values shared by all of us: we all feel committed to the great view of a United Europe. We believe that it is important that alumni express their positive opinion (in individual ways of course) regarding the development of Europe, especially when we consider the present situation.
In 2012, a group of Alumni from Varese, Brussels, Luxemburg, Karlsruhe and Munich, juniors and seniors, has met and has decided to set up a social network, the ‘Alumni Europae’. And it works. We recently organised a great event in London where more than 500 of us joined.
We are now roughly 2.000 members and our next goal is to connect all alumni, to attract new members and to raise around 10.000,- euro per year to be able to implement all our plans. Please take a look at www.alumnieuropae.org to find out more about us or join us via www.alumnieuropae.org/register/. Pupils, parents and teachers can all become member. Welcome on board!
