Judo Intermediate P4-S3 Monday 15:15

Activity Description

What do kids learn in Judo?

In this Japanese Martial Arts class, the little Judoka (as the Judo fighters are called) will learn to defeat their opponent without physically injuring them. Therefore, they will practice falling and rolling off safely, various throws and grips. Under the motto "win by giving in", Judo will also teach children values such as courtesy, helpfulness, honesty and respect.

What equipment do children require for Judo?

The only item the students need is a Judo suit made of white cotton. Beginner suits are sufficient for small Judoka. There is no need for a professional, more expensive one.

The training will be held barefoot on mats, but please make sure the children bring a pair of indoor trainers, so they can make their way to the toilets and changing rooms.

What abilities does Judo encourage?

· Health: In Judo, children train their supporting muscles.

· Motor skills: In exercises such as rolling, crawling and hopping, children train their coordination and balance skills

· Cognitive ability: Through sports, children learn and become aware of their own skills.

· Social relationships: Whether in a competition or during exercises - Judo improves confrontation with a partner and reflecting on your own behaviour.

Judo suits can be ordered through Pia Neupert if required.
