The Board of the ESF Parents Association was approached by parents who are concerned about recent allegations in the regional press, which imply that the ESF is effectively "closed" to families other than so-called 'Category I'.

Upon validation with the Director of the ESF on 2 February 2012, we are glad to convey that such information is not correct.

While the German and English language sections of the ESF barely have remaining capacity to accept pupils other than 'Category I', due to severe space constraints in the school, there is spare capacity in several classes of the French and Italian sections of the ESF Primary School, which may potentially be 'filled' with adequately qualified pupils from 'Category II' and 'Category III' families.

Kindly note that all admissions are at the entire discretion of the Director and that both for 'Category II' and 'Category III' admissions, certain preconditions must be fulfilled.

In order to obtain a valid answer as to whether or not your child can be admitted at the ESF, you must submit a formal application to the school until 15 February.

For further information and for the application form, kindly refer to the ESF website: http://www.esffm.org/en/infos/enrollment.html

After the barn dance club unfortunately had to be cancelled due to lack of space in September, we have now found another possibility!

The club will now be on THURSDAYS, from 15.15 - 16:15, in the ground floor of the PRE-primary building. The first one will be on Thursday 5th January, i.e. the day after school starts. As before, teaching will be in English, but I'm happy to translate into either German or French if the children do not understand. The club is for all primary children, boys and girls, from P1 to P5, and all sections!

Good exercise, lively music, fun way to make new friends!  The only afternoon activity that mixes boys and girls from all age-groups and sections. English folk dancing, open to all.

No experience necessary! Click here to print out the flyer.

€2.00 per session = € 24.00 for the spring term.

Please register your child(ren) with the PA via the AA registration form:
barn dance registration

Please note that only children whose parents are members of the PA may participate. The course fee (for administration only – the teaching is on a voluntary basis) will be taken from the same bank account as the PA membership fees.

I am really looking forward to starting up again and have lots of new dances to do with the children. I hope that many who were in the club last year will still be able come, and I encourage lots of new children to join us as well. It is very easy to integrate beginners into the dances, and I am sure everyone will have fun together!

Further information:
Children from P3, P4 and P5 should go straight across to the pre-primary building when school finishes on Thursdays. Children in P1 and P2 who are in childminding will be brought across the road to Gate D and should come into the building from there.

Afterwards, children going to childminding should wait at Gate D to be taken back over. Parents picking up children should also come to Gate D!
